Obituary of Marion Janet Gesick

Marion Janet Gesick, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday afternoon, January 16, 2019 at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was born in Old Saybrook on December 16, 1928 the daughter of Charles O. and Lena (Kouch) Lewis. Marion was a lifelong resident of Deep River. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Gesick. They shared 52 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing. Marion worked as a machine operator for several manufacturing companies in the Lower Connecticut River Valley. She was a member of the Winthrop Baptist Church and was a devoted reader of her Bible. Marion enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved animals of every kind.  She was a member of the Deep River American Legion Auxiliary. Marion will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She leaves her children, Linda Machado and her husband Joe of Clinton, Wayne Gesick, of Deep River and Donald Burr and his wife Barbara of Westbrook. She also leaves her four beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Marion was predeceased by her four sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Winthrop Baptist Church, Route 80 in the Winthrop section of Deep River.
