Obituary of Albert W. Redway II
Albert Watts Redway II, age 80 of Westbrook CT passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 on his 55th wedding anniversary. He was born in Hartford, March 3, 1936 to the late Albert and Idell (Godard) Redway. Al grew up in Warehouse Point and summered on the beach in Westbrook. Al graduated from Suffield Academy & Nichols College and served his country in the Army for two years. In 1961 Al married the love of his life Corinne Ohslund and went on to raise their family in Westbrook. In 1965 Al opened a Taylor Rental Center in Westbrook. He retired in 1995 and spent the winters in Florida where he and Corinne enjoyed many activities. Al was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles, Elks, Moose, and the Masonic Estuary #43. He was also a lifetime member of the S-X sportsmen's club of Deep River. Al was also a member of the Westbrook First Congregational Church for over 50 years .In addition to his beloved wife Corinne, he leaves his son Albert III and wife Traci of Old Saybrook, daughter Jane Winham and Fiancé Alan Faulkingham of Deep River, grandchildren Colby and Samuel Redway and Ian Winham. His sister Nancy Ford of Essex and brother-in-law Dr. Ronald Ohslund of Bloomington Indiana. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. A Graveside service with full military honors will be held at Cypress Cemetery in Westbrook on Thursday, June 2nd at 10:15am.A memorial service will follow at the Westbrook First Congregational Church at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Westbrook. Al's family wishes to thank Middlesex Hospice Home Care.
