Obituary of William C. Netolicky

William C. Netolicky, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2016. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gladys (Waz) Netolicky. He was also predeceased by his sister, Josephine McLean, and brother, Edward Lynch. Bill is survived by his son, William C. Netolicky, Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Susan Parks Netolicky of Vernon, and his brother, Raymond Lynch, of Bradenton, Florida. Bill was born on August 24, 1926 in Hartford. His family moved to Deep River where he was a resident for over 65 years before moving to Groton, Massachusetts in 2007. He was a longtime parishioner of Saint Joseph's Church in Chester. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and upon his return to Deep River, was employed by the Monsanto Corporation until his retirement. A man of great character, he was a devoted husband, loving father and caring friend who was known by all to be generous and kind. He loved his pets, gardening, bowling and puzzle-making. Every day was a great day for Bill and his positive attitude, sunny disposition and compassionate spirit will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:30AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester. Interment with the rendering of Full Military Honors will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Route 145 in Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Bill's name be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center of Connecticut, 1261 South Main Street, Plantsville, CT 06479.
