Obituary of Charlton J. Von Deck

Charlton J. Von Deck (Charlie) of Englewood, Florida and Old Saybrook, CT. died November 2, 2016. He was born January 3, 1948 in Middletown, CT., to Charlton and Johanna (Pandiani) Von Deck. Charlie grew up in Ivoryton before going into the Army and serving his country in Vietnam. He moved to Florida and became one of the top distributors for Wynns products. Charlie enjoyed boating and was an avid fisherman. He played guitar, recently studying jazz, and loved riding and restoring motorcycles, all which he shared with his family and friends. Charlie is survived by his wife, Mary, a son Jesse of Tennessee, his sister Joanne Barnett of Tennessee, two step daughters, Beth Grieder of North Branford, CT., and Kelly Hunt and her husband Justin of Salem, CT. He has five grandchildren, Connor, Xavier, and Drake Von Deck of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Alyssa and Logan Hunt of Salem, CT. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and a brother, Jack Von Deck. A visitation will be Monday, November 7 from 5-7 PM at Robinson, Wright, & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT. Funeral services and interment will be private.
