Obituary of Jennie Clark Hogan
It is with great sadness that the family of Jennie Clark Hogan announces her passing on Monday, May 28th at age 92. She was born in Bigger, Scotland on July 20, 1925 and sailed for America at age 5 where she resided in White Planes, NY with her mother, father, and brother, Jimmy. She met her husband Joe and it was love at first sight. They were married within nine months and raised five children. They lived in Meriden, CT. for years enjoying winter weekends in Vermont and summers in Old Saybrook, CT where they formed lifelong friendships with a wonderful group of people who have been waiting to be reunited again. After Joe's passing in 1989 Jennie continued to enjoy her time with friends and family and made new friends everywhere she went. She will miss each one, especially her many happy hour comrades and many others too numerous to mention. Jennie made the most of life and brought happiness to everyone she met. She had a great sense of adventure, humor, and quick wit; she never turned down a scotch, Manhattan, or nip. In addition to her Scottish relatives in New York and elsewhere and extended Hogan family across the country, she is survived by her children: Joseph "Buzzy," Leigh (Bruce,) Scott, and Kelly (Maneck); grandchildren: Joe (Amy), Jason, Matt (Jen,) Ken (Tonya,) Amanda, Richard, Brendan, Joelle, Vijay, and Jocelyn; and great grandchildren: Owen and Leah. She is predeceased by her husband Joe, her son, Brian, and her daughters in-law, JoAnn and Marlene. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1st from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Robinson, Wright, and Weymer Funeral Home located at 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will meet on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:00 AM directly at St. Mark's Church located at 222 McVeagh Road, Westbrook, CT. Burial will follow at Riverside cemetery, Sheffield Street, Old Saybrook, CT.
