Obituary of Duane C. Fresia

Duane C. Fresia, 79, of Centerbrook Connecticut, died on Friday, June 8, 2018, in the home that he loved. Raised to be a sweet, kind man by his parents, Joseph and Mildred. Duane had a great sense of humour and was known for his jokes and playful spirit. He had a knack for numbers and electronics, genealogy and research, and played and watched many sports his whole life. He loved the Swede Club, cribbage, walking, music, and sitting on his back deck in the sun with a beer. A generous man of few words, known for his great hugs and smile. Duane was dearly loved and will be missed by his three children, Deron, Gretchen (Brian), and Eric (Catherine). 'Grampa D' to his nine grandchildren: Nick (Becca), Myah (Bobby), Logan, and Emma; Isaac (Haley), Sam, and Charlotte; Lyle (Jennifer), and Josie. As well as five great grandchildren: Jack and Eva, Liam, Emerson and Anna- most in Nova Scotia (plus New Brunswick and Alberta). Duane will be greatly missed by his big brother, David (Alice), 'his hero', of Old Saybrook, as well as by David's family. He loved and was loved by his Connecticut family: Ruth Morin, of Chester, and her children: Rose (Will), Bob (Jen), and Sheri (Patrick), along with their families.There will be a 'Celebration of Duane's Life' on Thursday, June 14, at his home in Centerbrook, at 2 pm, followed by burial at the Centerbrook Cemetery at 3 pm. Everyone is then invited back to his home for refreshments, sharing memories and pictures, and toasting a great man. Rest in peace, Duane, 'Dee', Grampa D- Thank you, we love you, and we will miss you always...
