Obituary of Ernest Joseph Angersola
Ernest Joseph “Ernie” Angersola, age 96, a lifelong resident of Chester entered the realm of Heaven on Thursday morning, June 14, 2018 at Chesterfields Health and Rehabilitation in Chester. He was the beloved husband of Antoinette “Toni” (DiMauro) Angersola who predeceased him on February 1, 2018. He leaves his loving sons, Paul and his wife Marie Angersola and David and his wife Debra Angersola , and his beloved granddaughter Christine Angersola all of Chester. Ernie was born in Chester on November 18, 1921 the son of the late Joseph and Elvira (Cappellini) Angersola. He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in The United States Navy in the Asiatic and European Theaters. Ernie also served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He retired after many years from Pratt-Whitney Aircraft having worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department. He also had worked in a number of manufacturing companies in the Lower Connecticut River Valley. He was a member of the American Legion Post #97 in Chester and was a communicant at Saint Joseph’s Church. Ernie enjoyed farming and gardening, building stone walls and patios, and wood working and wood carving. He was an avid New York Yankee fan and also loved to watch the UCONN Lady Huskies with Toni. Besides his beloved wife Toni and his parents he was predeceased by his sister Alice Lukie and his brother Joseph Angersola. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11:00AM at Saint Joseph’s Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Legion Post #97, P.O. Box 122, Chester CT 06412. All contributions will be designated to The Chester War Memorial Site Renovation. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Chesterfields Health and Rehabilitation for their loving care of Ernie.
