Obituary of Mildred Y. Kennedy

Mildred Y. Kennedy, age 75, of Westbrook passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. She was born on November 14, 1942 in Humbermouth, Newfoundland, Canada. In 1964 she became a resident of Amherst, Massachusetts and in 1970, she became a United States citizen.  Mildred had been a resident of Westbrook and prior to retiring had a thirty year career with New England Airfoil now Doncasters. She began as a Production Controller and worked her way up to a Sales Engineer. Mildred is survived by her son, Kevin Murphy of Nova Scotia and his daughters, Nichole Estabrooks (David) and two sons, Jackson and Avery, and daughter, Melissa Murphy (Chris Weatherbee) and daughter Ryder and son Bristol. Mildred also leaves her daughter, Kristi Joy (David Olmsted) of Westbrook and children, Sean and Noah Antonson and Raegan Olmsted. Mildred’s brother and sisters survive her, brother, Robert Patten (Karen) of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, and children, Chris, Ashley and Nathan, sister, Stella Ralph of Alberta, Canada and children, Tara and Stephanie, sister, Katie MacLean of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and children, Junior, Lorne, Kerry and Kendra. She also is survived by her nephew, Jon Patten, many cousins in the Hutchings family and too many friends to count. Mildred was predeceased by her mother and father, Helen Patten and John Innes, her brothers, Herbert (Bud) Patten, Winston Patten and her sister, Ruby Pegler. Her greatest passion in life was her family and friends. Mildred enjoyed watching her grandsons playing sports, dinner with friends at her favorite restaurant, Bill’s Seafood and traveling to Nova Scotia to visit with her great-grandchildren. She had an enormous heart and would do anything for anyone. A service will be held at a future date in Nova Scotia, Canada. The family thanks the staff at Aaron Manor Health and Rehabilitation for their loving and devoted care of Mildred.
