John was a great and highly respected businessman. Even being a competitor, I have great respect for everything John achieved and his impact on the emergency warning market. His memory will live on in all of us, especially those who make it home safely when disaster strikes. John's work to advance emergency warning technology will stay with us for many, many years to come.
My deep condolences to his family for their loss.

Dear Jane and family:
So sad to hear of John's passing. He was such an amazing man, husband and father. He did so much of so many people. I remember when I was working for Zeke M. in Guilford he would call to see what Zeke found for him. He was always surprised when I said hi John (he would try to disguise his voice).
Will miss him.

I want to send a condolence letter to John Olson's family. Dear Olson family, I had the honor of knowing John for the past 6 years through my work with Keene State College. John's belief in the importance of eduction was strong and genuine and he backed up his words with action. John spent countless hours sharing his passion and knowledge of manufacturing with faculty, staff and students at Keene State. He was so inspiring! And what a company he quietly built up in Charleston! Walking through that plant on the many tours he led, you could feel the respect and affection between the employees and John. John also showed great generosity, helping to establish a scholarship at Keene State to students interested in manufacturing careers. I will miss him as will many, many others who had the privilege of knowing this great man. I wish his surviving family strength in adjusting to this profound loss. Kind regards, Daniel Henderson

I did not have the privilege of meeting or knowing John, but in becoming an employee of the company he helped create, it is obvious the level of character John possessed. His influence on the culture here at Whelen Engineering will continue for generations. My sincere condolences, and Prayers for his family and friends.

Dear Jim,
Mary Ellen and I send our condolences to you and your family. When I became a CT StateTrooper I was issued a small red revolving light that plugged into the cigarette lighter and was secured to the dash or roof with magnets. Railroad flares were our best source of safety lighting.
Your dad’s engineering ingenuity would improve police safety dramatically. John Olson thank you you were always a great friend to the Connecticut State Poluce. John Mulligan (CSP LTC retired).

John's a man of integrity and stature and I remember fondly the conversations we had both at Whelen and outside of Whelen.
The inventiveness, creativity, imagination, initiative and vision will be missed by all that knew him.
John came from a time when a person stood for something
and is characterized by this originality.
May God Bless him and his family!
Respectfully,
Stefan A. Golec
