Obituary of Ann O'Brien Coulter
Ann O’Brien Coulter, 77, of Old Saybrook, the beloved wife of John Coulter for 59 years, passed away at home on September 1st after a long battle with cancer. Born in Niantic on April 28, 1941, daughter of the late John and Isabelle O’Brien, she attended Old Saybrook High School. She worked at the Southern New England Telephone Co. in Old Saybrook and Space Coast Credit Union in Melbourne, FL. In addition to her husband, she leaves three children, son, Michael (Bonnie), and daughters, Colleen Fuller (Alan), and Maureen Coppes (Bryan). Ann also leaves five grandchildren, Riley and Delaney Fuller, and Macneil, Holly, and Cate Coppes. She leaves two brothers, Thomas (Paula) O’Brien, and Richard (Beverly) O’Brien as well as two sisters, Patricia Crozier, and Dorothy Dahlberg. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and George O’Brien and her sisters, Helen Gilbert, and Nancy Falivene. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ann was affectionately known as “Grammie” by dozens of friends and relatives, both in Old Saybrook as well as in Melbourne. A Remembrance Mass will be held at Saint John’s Church, 161 Main Street in Old Saybrook on Thursday, September 6th, at 11:00AM. A visitation will not be held and burial will be privately held by Ann’s family.
