Obituary of Robert A. Boulay
Robert A. (Bob) (Boo) Boulay, 61, of Killingworth gently and gracefully passed away on September 13, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by his adoring family. Beloved husband of Eileen (Sullivan) Boulay and loving father to Bradford F. and Austin E. Boulay. He fought hard to battle an aggressive cancer that he was diagnosed with last month. He was strong, positive, kind, thoughtful, brilliant, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Bob was born in Derby, CT, on September 22, 1956, and lived there for many years before moving to Wallingford. This is where he worked in data processing and was a Vice President of Operations. Bob also worked for Redbox for several years, and his incredible work ethic and professionalism was appreciated by all with whom he worked with, including AOS in Branford, where he was a customer service manager. Aside from his work, he was athletic and enjoyed playing baseball, tennis, darts and any sport he put his mind to. Bob excelled in everything that he did and was a "guru " with computer technology even before it became a necessity in everyday life. One of Bob’s favorite things to do was work on any one of the family cars with his sons. There wasn't anything that he couldn't fix or figure out. He built his own home in Killingworth from start to finish (while still working as a VP) and it was done to perfection. His culinary skills were comparable to the best of any professional chef. He loved music and could name almost any song on the radio or whistle from Eileen. Although he was truly a jack of all trades, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Whether at home; or on the sidelines of the many sporting events his sons participated in (and the many teams he coached); or various school functions; he was always there, no matter where his sons were. The family vacations and the countless events the family had together were his favorite times. Bob and Eileen loved each other deeply and enjoyed the simple things in life. He adored her and she adored him. They just loved their life being together, whether it was sitting by the "pool " with their Lab Opie, or bike riding at the beach, or just cooking together and watching a ball game. Bob loved his parish family at Saint Lawrence Church and will be greatly missed by all. Bob will be missed by every soul he met, as his loving existence touched the hearts of each and every person. Bob loved his brothers and their families so much, and the times they spent together were full of happiness. All the reminiscent stories that left them, and all of us, laughing hysterically, where also ones of tearful joy. He was the devoted son of Ann Boulay, who he loved so tenderly, and the late Ralph Boulay Sr., who he lost so sadly last year. Bob is survived by his brothers Ralph Jr. (Marge), twin brother William (Ellen), James (Linda), and Larry. Additionally, he is survived by his adoring parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Sullivan, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott & Susan D'Amico, Mitch & Kathleen DePalma, Robert & Mary Sullivan, Brian & Monica Sullivan, Stephen & Tracy Sullivan, Leana Sullivan and David Sullivan. Bob was predeceased by brother in-law F. William Sullivan (Billy). He adored his 26 nieces and nephews, Patty (Irwin), Billy, Steven (Yasmeen), Danielle, Michael, Ryan (Sarah), Taylor, Brittany, Maggie, Connor, Kevin, Trevor, Samantha, William, Debra, Tommy (Alicia), Michelle (Josh), Lindsay, James Jr., Sean, and Kristin. Bobs beautiful, loving smile and compassionate demeanor will live on in all of us forever.
