Obituary of Kathleen Reynolds Williamson
Kathleen Reynolds Williamson, 79, formerly of Ringoes, NJ, passed away with her loving son, Chris by her side at Aaron Manor Nursing Home in Chester, CT on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Kathleen was born on April 12, 1939, the daughter of the late Herschel and Kathryn (Evans) Reynolds. After attending school in Detroit, and Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, as a part of her community experience program she worked as a surgical hospital technician in Cleveland, and a research assistant at the Harvard School of Dentistry. After graduating in 1966 from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at the hospital for a time and then served as orthopedic staff nurse at Maine Medical Center where she met and married her first husband, Lawrence B. Weymouth who predeceased her in 1989. The couple resided on Cousins Island in Maine. She then became an industrial nurse supervising health and treating accidents at the Maine Yankee Power Plant. As a specialist in geriatric nursing, Kathleen worked in nursing homes in Freeport, Maine, and Flemington and Bridgewater, NJ, the latter as a nurse manager at their 60-bed acute-care facility. In later life, she opened and supervised cases for a New Jersey health-care agency, and was a substitute occupational health nurse at a New York Life Insurance facility. She also did private duty home health care nursing for the elderly. Kathleen met and married her second husband, Dereck Williamson in 1990. He predeceased her in 2016. Kathleen was a member of the Flemington Woman’s Club and the Delaware Bead Society, and was a longtime sewer who enjoyed sewing projects even as a child making and designing her own clothing. She will always be remembered as a devoted, loving and caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Christopher B. Weymouth and his wife Vanessa, and her grandson Colin Weymouth, of Deep River, CT., her brother John H. Reynolds and his husband Ross Welke of Albuquerque, NM, and her nieces, Hanna and Sarah.The family would like to thank Dr. Andrea Schaffner and the staff at Aaron Manor Nursing Home for their devoted care. A visitation will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, October 4th at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT. Kathleen will be laid to rest next to her mother and father in the family plot on Friday, October 5th at 11:30AM at the Princeton Cemetery, 29 Greenview Ave, Princeton, NJ., 08542.
