Obituary of Renze Johnston
Renze W. Johnston, 94, of Essex passed away peacefully on Sunday morning November 9, 2014 at her home at Essex Meadows where she had resided for the past fifteen years. She and her twin sister were born on October 6, 1920 in New Haven the daughters of George and Florence Lacy-Baker Wilshire. Upon graduating from Vassar College and marrying Reed Weyburn in 1941, they moved to Washington, DC where she worked at the Pentagon and her husband served in the Pacific during World War II aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey. Renze's work also included various secretarial positions in Washington, eventually retiring and moving back to Essex. She is survived by her daughter, Barry Weyburn, her granddaughter, Julie Post, many step-children, and many more step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, Reed Weyburn, Brewster Chapman, Reverend John Anschutz, and Waldo Johnston, and her twin sister, Marjory Schmitt. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 3:00PM at Saint John's Episcopal Church, located on the corner of Main and Cross Streets in Essex.
