Obituary of Alina Zophia Schwartzman
Alina Zophia Schwartzman, 48, of Deep River, passed away peacefully after a long and valiant fight with breast cancer on Friday, October 19, 2018. She was born Alina Stankiewicz in Norwich. Alina graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1987 and Emerson College in 1991, and worked for over twenty years in Public Relations at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. She married Adam Schwartzman in 2002 and moved to Deep River, where their daughter, Hannah, was born. Alina was a loving wife and mother, warm and generous daughter, sister, family member, and friend. She loved reading, writing, making jewelry, her home and garden, biking, walking in the woods, brunching, and watching HBO and scary movies with her family. We will miss her warmth, her steady support and guidance, and her love and generosity to her family and wide, life-long circle of friends. She is survived by her husband Adam, her daughter Hannah, along with her father Kazimierz, brother, Jerry, sister-in-law Kathleen, and nephew Ryan. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Czeslawa, and brother, Kazimierz, who died in infancy in their native Poland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 48 Middlesex Ave. in Chester on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:30AM. Burial will follow in the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook.
