This past Sunday I sent my annual text message to Jack to wish him a Happy Veterans Day. This was something I did every year, never forgetting all he went through. When I hadn't heard after several days I wondered. I was so sad to hear of Jack's passing. He was a great friend and he will be missed. I began my friendship with him when I took his Cultures of Southeast Asia class at WCSU. To be honest I took it as an elective, simply filling a credit, but it ended up being my favorite class. It was fascinating. He was such a great teacher, weaving in his stories of Vietnam through teaching the culture. He also helped me with my Senior Thesis, in which I did a historical analysis of the Broadway musical "Miss Saigon." He and Lynn were such gracious hosts, having me over for dinner several times. Their kindness will never ever be forgotten. XO

My beloved brother “Johnny” as I will always remember you. I love and cherish our childhood memories, when you teased me endlessly, comforted me and taught me many things. I loved you dearly, Johnny and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers with mom and dad. Barbara

For 50 years and two months Jack was my best friend in war and peace. Now he enjoys eternal peace. Jack and I, on Batcat Crew 2, flying the iconic EC-121R, flew approximately 70 Vietnam combat missions together mostly over the skies of Laos very close to the North Vietnam borders. We collectied critical intelligence on troop and equipment movement toward South Vietnam. Our Igloo White mission was the most highly classified in the theater at that time. Jack was the officer in charge of the intelligence team collecting and analyzing the data. I was the co-pilot. However most important to me, Jack has been not only a best friend but also a rock solid spiritual guide. I have been abundantly blessed to know Jack and his wife Lynn and his amazing daughters Beth and Tempe. RIP Batcat Jack.

My prayers for all of you -- that memories will help you through your grieving. Memories of my time with Jack, on and off the golf course, will be cherished forever. He was a good friend and an example of a good Christian. Jack was a caring man who loved mankind.
Rest in Peace, Brother...

My sincerest condolences to Beth, Tempe, Bob, Caroline, Barbara and all family and friends of Jack. May time and memories comfort you, as you come to terms with your profound loss.
Alfred Lord Tennyson said, “brief is life, but love is long.” The love Jack gave will live on long after his death. Each generation will pass on a part of Jack to the next. It is all part of the miracle of life.
I am forever thankful for the friendship and love bestowed upon me by Jack over the last 40 years. My life was infinitely richer for having known him. I will miss him more than words can express. Rest in Peace my dear friend.

My sincerest condolences go out not only to Jack's family, but to anyone who knew Jack. I met Jack when we worked together at Western Connecticut State University. He was one of the kindest, gentlest and most gracious people I have had the pleasure and honor to know.
