Obituary of Ilona Fekete Ott
Ilona (Helen) Ott of Middletown, formerly of Chester, passed away peacefully in Middletown on Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2018. She was born in Bethlehem, PA the daughter of the late Vera and Stephen Fekete, she was raised in Wallingford. Ilona moved to Chester in 1952 when she married her husband, the late George T. Ott. Known to friends as ‘Helen’, she enjoyed her career as a hair dresser, but her focus was always on raising her two girls and helping others. The youngest of six children, Ilona’s father was killed in a mining accident in Bethlehem one month before her birth. We know he has welcomed her with open arms after waiting 90 years to meet his daughter. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Carrie Post (Richard) of Otego, NY, and Cindy Ott (Neil Obergefell) of Middletown. “Mimi” truly enjoyed her five grandchildren, Bradley Post (Laura), Greg Post (Hallie), Tyler Post (Kelly) of NY, Dr. Julie Nash (GR) of Chester, and James Blundon (Rebecca) of NH, along with eight great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend gratitude to the staff at Apple Rehab in Middletown for their care, and also to Middlesex Hospice, a blessing in her final days. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 11:00AM with burial immediately following in Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to Middlesex Hospice, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT or the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
