Obituary of William Scott DeMars

William Scott DeMars, “Bill”, 58, of Essex passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Middlesex Medical Center in Westbrook as a result of a single car accident in Essex. Bill was the beloved husband of Sharon (Ely) DeMars. They were married in Essex at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on May 28, 1988 and have made Essex their home for over 26 years. Bill was born in Lynn, MA on January 18, 1960 the son of Nancy (Perkins) DeMars of Lynn and the late Robert DeMars. Bill was a graduate of the University of Connecticut in 1998 receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems. He was a commercial truck driver for many years. Bill loved the water and boating and also enjoyed computer gaming and a good cold beer. He was always there to help someone who was in need. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Besides his wife Sharon and mother Nancy he leaves his daughter, Caitlin DeMars, of Boston, MA and her fiancé Philip Corriveau, his brothers, Robert DeMars and his wife Dawn, of Wakefield, MA, Michael DeMars, of Beverly, MA, and Craig DeMars, of Lynn, MA, and his sister, Tracey Pistorio and her husband John, of Billerica, MA., and his many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect Street in Essex. Burial will follow in the Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to Mercy High School, 1740 Randolph Road, Middletown, CT 06457.
