Obituary of Muriel Alice (Franson) David
Muriel Alice (Franson) David, 91, of Old Saybrook, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2019. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Warren G. David in 1987 and her son-in-law, Robert E. Dunn in 2014. Muriel was born in Ivoryton on June 10, 1927 to Alice (Johnson) and Albert S. Franson. She was a graduate of Pratt High School in Essex. After World War II she met and married Warren, a recently-discharged U.S. Army veteran and resident of Chester. In 1964 Muriel and her husband moved from Ivoryton to Old Saybrook, where they owned a retail business and raised their two children. In retirement she was an avid reader and enjoyed the companionship of her Welsh terrier, Dusty. Muriel is survived by her children Daniel L. David of Chester and Candice A. Dunn of Old Saybrook, grandson Shannon C. Dunn and his wife Claire of Guilford, their children Oliver, Liam and Maeve Dunn, Robert Dunn’s sons Paul, Jeffrey and Steven Dunn and their families, and her sister Arlene J. Young and nephew Timothy C. Young of Ivoryton. Muriel’s family expresses sincere appreciation to Apple Rehab of Old Saybrook and Beacon Hospice for the care and support provided to Muriel during her time with them. Services were private.
