Obituary of Dorothy F. Magoon

Dorothy F. Magoon, 94, of Westbrook passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 12, 2019 at Apple Rehabilitation in Old Saybrook. She was the beloved wife of Elton H. Magoon who predeceased her in 2009. Dorothy was born on December 1, 1924 in Cummington, Massachusetts the daughter of Leslie and Grace (Knapp) Joyner. She is survived by her sons, Peter L. Magoon of Ventura, CA and James E., and wife Judee A. Magoon of Old Saybrook, her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brother, Edward Joyner of Cummington, MA and her sister, Phyllis (Joyner) Chase of Vernon. A family service will be held at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown where Dorothy will join her husband. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Middlesex Health Cancer Center, c/o the Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
