Obituary of Verna B. "Rose" Spinney

Verna B. "Rose" Moulton Robertson Spinney passed away peacefully on June 17, 2019 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, CT after a brief illness. She was 16 days shy of her 100th birthday, having been born July 3, 1919 in Gilmington, NH, the daughter of Carroll and Edna (Tibbetts) Moulton. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her first husband, James S. Robertson; her 2nd husband, Ralph "Bud" Spinney; her daughter, Pauline D. Pate (Frank); brothers Richard, Arthur, John, Albert, and Morris; sisters Elsie "Babe", Edna "Betty", and Louise.  She is survived by  daughters, Darline Boykin (Chuck) and Ann Neumann (Ken); son, Ken Robertson (Patricia); and Son in Law Frank Pate. She also leaves her brothers, Theodore and Stanley;  and her sister, Beatrice, her eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; as well as many nieces & nephews and her dear friend, Elsie Bella. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM at the Deep River Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Deep River, CT.  Arrangements by Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, in Centerbrook.
