Obituary of Theresa Zullo Remetta

Theresa Zullo Remetta, 97, of Clinton passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019. She was born on July 17, 1922, in Jamaica, New York, the daughter of Michael and Josephine (Grimaldi) Zullo. In 1946 she married and moved to Fairfield where she spent her time raising her children and working various jobs. She drove a school bus for many years for the Easton School District before working at Sikorsky Aircraft where she worked in the Plant Engineering Department as the Clerk of the Works. She retired from Sikorsky in 1986 taking part time jobs in local garden centers where she created beautiful wreaths and flower arrangements. In 1992 she moved to Clinton where she enjoyed scouring her favorite beach overlooking Duck Island for shells, taking long walks, visiting friends, and basking in the sun. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Remetta, Sr. and her son, Leonard Remetta, Jr. Theresa is survived by her children, sons, Kim Remetta of Milford, and Lawrence Remetta of Clinton and her daughter, Laura (Remetta) Machnicz of Oxford. At her request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The Estuary Council of Seniors, 220 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
