On reading of Bob's passing in the New London Day, I would like to offer my deepest condolences. Knowing Bob for many years, I found in his presence a sense of warmth and intelligence. He was fun loving and entertaining person. He always left me the impression that life was to be lived as a spirit of adventure which he did. Bob will be sorrily missed.
Bob was my friend for many years during and after he learned to fly at our flight school in Waterford, Ct.
Bob was one of the best pilots we trained back then, eventually owning his own aircraft. I personally taught Bob how to fly and was amazed at his ability to handle strong cross-wind landings. A natural talent for sure.
Later I would visit Bob at Stanley Motors as I purchased several vehicles from Bob and always had him service them. Everybody that knew Bob agreed that he was an honest and reliable auto dealer...and much more. Bob had loads of character. All the things that make a good person. Honesty, trust, hard work and more. I am deeply saddened with Bobs passing. I wish comfort and pride for Bob's family. He was a joy and honor to know.
