A Memory: I've known Mrs. E from the day I was almost born in her living room - as family folklore has it. She was 7 months pregnant with Todd and my mother and father (Art and Dot Thompson) were college friends and also lived in close proximity in those early days in Essex - the Ellisons on Bushnell Street, and Thompsons on New City Street. Carl and Art were watching Gunsmoke when I decided to arrive into this world, however, my father apparently did not want leave until the end of the show which made it a close call making it to New London hospital in time. I spent my entire childhood playing with Todd and later Tom on Melody Lane or the many visits to our home on Book Hill, the two Moms chatting and having coffee (Mrs. E) or tea (my Mom) while the kids played. Summers at Mile Creek or Cedar Lake, skating on Sunset Pond; the memories would fill a book. I will never forget Mrs. E - her smile, her laugh, the sound of her voice, the sparkle in her eye, her talents - I still have a quilted pot warmer that I use and think of her. She will be terribly missed but she will never be forgotten.
My love and prayers to Carl (Mr. E), Todd, Tom, and the rest of her beloved family.
