On behalf of myself and my brother John and sister Meg, I would like to convey our deep sorrow and condolences
at Dr. Flynn's passing. What a Great Man! The Doctor was our dentist throughout his many years in practice in West Hartford, where he served our family and so many people in the Greater Hartford community with great care and extraordinary skill. He and Mrs. Flynn were favorite friends of my parents, and I will always remember their kindness and friendship to Maureen and Al
and our entire family especially in times of need. One of my favorite stories that my Dad
would tell was how he drove with Doctor Flynn and his brother Mike one weekend to the Ram Island Yacht Club, where they were sailing in a race. The Doctor and Mike already had their third crew member, so my Dad was left as a pick-up
crew member to anyone else who needed one. As it turned out, a young and very intense Ted Turner showed up with his boat,
and somehow my Father ended up on Mr. Turner's crew. In the subsequent few hours Dad would say he was all but keel hauled by Ted Turner along with the other pickup crew person, while all the while chasing the Flynn boat which was in the lead. After a long day, Ted Turner was forced to resign himself to the skill and cunning of the Doctor and Mike who took the victory and won the race.
Knowing Dr. Flynn, you would never hear him brag about his sailing acumen or his golf score, or winning the HGC long ball tournament, which I know he did on more than one occasion. Still you knew he was a fierce competitor, a great Dad, and a First Class Gentleman, and all I can do is convey our heartfelt love and best wishes to Mrs. Flynn, George, Ann, and Peter as well as the entire Flynn Clan at this the time of his passing. On behalf of the Baronian Family,
God Bless you All.
Sincerely, Jim Baronian
