I have the fondest memories of James since when I was about 8 or 9 years old. He had a very stylish car. Since James and my Aunt Una emigrated to the USA the Clarke sisters, May and Una, have stayed in touch as have James and the Costello family with the O"Riordan family.
James was a gentleman, very kind and very thoughtful.
With deepest condolences to Rory, Eric, Noriko and Kai and Peter Costello

Dear Rory and Eric: My mother, sisters and I send our condolences. We have very fond memories of your parents growing up, and we still recall how cheerful and delightful your father was. His wit and dry sense of humor got us through some very difficult times. We hope he did not suffer, and that he is at peace now. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Best, Jim Reardon

My sincere condolences for your loss of Jim. I have many wonderful memories of working with “Jimmy” as a peer in Corporate Engineering over the years! What a bright and cheery friend he was. One of the most funny incidents that I recall when we all worked in “cubicles’ in a large open space were his weekly phone calls to Mexico regarding a problem with a warehouse. THe complaint was that the roof leaked. Jim would call religiously to see whether it was leaking or not and they kept telling him that it was fine today! (Jim’s solution to communicating to the Spanish speakers was to increase his volume until they understood! So, all of us had little choice but stop trying to focus on anything we were doing until the call ended.) Finally, during one call the Mexicans told him that the roof was leaking when it had not for the past month! He asked them what changed that might contribute to the leak. They simply replied that it was raining! He had thought they had been inspecting and investigating the construction of the roof looking for a fault all along but apparently not. One of many, but he was often the life of the office! A good man, technically sound engineer, especially when it came to reinforced concrete construction! Though I have not seen him in quite a few years, I still think of him fondly. May God grant each of you a peace that surpasses all understanding and heal your hearts. All the best.
