Obituary of Louis William DesJardins
Louis William DesJardins, age 81 of Killingworth passed away on Thursday morning, March 6th at Chesterfields Healthcare Center in Chester. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Pothier) DesJardins. He was born in Wallingford on October 1, 1932 the son of Louis A. and Irene (Peters) DesJardins. Louis was a truck driver who for 20 years drove for the Boehle Express Company in Meriden. He was also a self-employed house painter and had worked at the Killingworth transfer station for 6 years. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War having served his country as a member of the United States Army. Louis was an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan and enjoyed horse racing. He was a member of the Killingworth Congregational Church and a trustee of the church's men club. Besides his wife Irene he leaves his ten children, Lorraine Wendt, Karen Grasmick, Sharon DesJardins, Raymond DesJardins, Gregory DesJardins, Joanne Wechter, Roxanne DesJardins, Nicole DesJardins, Elizabeth DesJardins, and Sherry DesJardins. He also leaves his two step-sons, Todd and Keith Hajek and his twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Louis was predeceased by his sons, Steven and Gerard, his brother, Raymond and sister Lorraine. Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Thursday, March 13th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
