Obituary of Kathryn Conforto

Kathryn "Mitzi" Conforto , 91 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 22, 2015 at Apple Rehab, Old Saybrook. She was the wife of Samuel Conforto, who predeceased her in 2011. She was born in Hartford on March 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Morello. She was a 1940 graduate of Buckley High School, and was a resident of North Haven for many years. Her summers were spent in Old Saybrook for more than 45 years, which she greatly enjoyed. Mitzi was always friendly and smiley whenever she encountered people, and would engage in lively conversation. She endeared herself to the many people who knew her. During the summers she cheerfully volunteered at the Old Saybrook Estuary Council of Seniors. Mitzi was a communicant of St. John's Church in Old Saybrook. A loving mother, she is survived by her son Kenneth and his wife Ergie of Essex , her granddaughter Alison and partner Justin Deck of Washington, DC; her daughter Karen Craner and fiancee Joe Prince of Wilmington, Delaware. She also leaves two brothers in laws and their wives: Paul and Sarah Conforto and John and Marge Conforto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mitzi will always be remembered for her friendliness and lively personality. Her family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staffs of Tidelawn Manor and Apple Rehab for their loving and compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook.
