Dear Calice, I was very sorry to hear of your husband's death. I met him at least once -- maybe at one of Hayne's Studio Sales? -- and he seemed like a lovely man. He was lucky to have had you in his life, and based on that long-ago interaction and his obituary, I think you were lucky to have had him. Lots of love, Stacey Sparks

Calice-- So sorry to read in the Zip that Sam had passed away and that I had missed the service on Aug. 10th. Sam and I enjoyed playing with the Old Lyme Band for many years. I no longer play with the band but will always have many happy memories playing in the band with Sam. -- Ed Birch

My first data processing job was working for Sam in 1967 at Chesebrough Ponds Inc. Our group was Ace Upton Cal Ohidy and Aldo Descrinso. Sam was a nice person to work for. We were also golf partners in the Monday night golf league at the Clinton Country Club.
God Bless Sam you were a nice person.

I am saddened to learn of Sam's passing. He and I were fellow department managers at Chesebrough-Pond's for over 30 years. Sam was a gentleman and a pleasure to know and work with. He was always courteous and respectful, and his long religious background no doubt contributed to this. Sam and I were privileged to perform in a brass quintet before a management holiday dinner in 1967, Sam on the trombone and I with my trumpet. It was an experience we never forgot. I offer my condolences and best wishes to Calice and their families. He will be missed. David Longobucco

We were saddened to hear of Mr. Walker's passing. We are so sorry for his family's loss. Mr. Sam Walker was an active member in good standing with the American Legion IBELL-JACOBSON-SMITH Post 61 in Deep River, Ct. for over 28 years. He assisted other Post 61 veterans in many roles during his younger days. It is known that this U.S. Army/WWII veteran may have even won some golf games competing against Navy or Air Force comrades, or so it has been reported by Post 61 members. He will be missed. Thank goodness he, and others like him, answered the call of duty during our country's time of need. His service to our nation is appreciated. Sincerely, Eileen B. Richard, Commander Post 61 IBELL-JACOBSON-Smith
