Obituary of Scott Raymond Peters

Scott Raymond Peters, 69, of Southington and West Haven CT, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Friday, October 2, 2020. Scott was born in Waterbury CT on September 25, 1951. He was a very proud Marine and Navy Vietnam Veteran. He was an avid reader, always at a library, “book worm some might say”, a thinker. He liked wood working and was meticulous. He was a kind gent and always had a “hello and smile” for all. He also was quite the humorous and stubborn fellow. He was a fighter; he fought his battle with cancer in true Scott form, with an attitude of bravery. He is survived by his children Patrick, Timothy and Emily Peters, his grandchildren Clover and Harvest, his siblings Robin Peters, Robert Pelegano, sister-in-law Stella Pelegano, nieces Jamie Peters, Melissa Hamera, Heather Peters, nephews Sean and Brandon Pelegano, Cary and Michael Peters, Mark and Kyle Hamera. He is predeceased by his parents Llyod Leonard and Betty Jane Peters, siblings Debbie, Cary and Holly, nephews Robert Jr (Bobby) Pelegano and Christopher Peters. An Irish Prayer: May God give you for every storm a rainbow, for every tear, a smile, for every care, a promise, And a Blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh, a sweet song, and an answer for each prayer. May the sun shine warm upon your face and may God hold you in the palm of his hand. A Graveside Service will be held at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Scott’s name to either the Wounded Warrior Project and/or Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are by the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, in Centerbrook.
