Met Anita more than twenty years ago at a writing workshop, from which four members (including me) formed their own group. We became close friends as we helped each other with our individual writing projects, meeting every other week for all these years over lunch at various places. We cherished Anita-- her keen intellect, her emotional openness, her caring for others, insights and listening skills, and her wonderful sense of humor. My particular connection with her was, we both spent part of our lives-- although in very different time periods-- with the Navajos.
Anita, may you continue to be a shining light where you are now-- my hope is to meet you again in that sacred place beyond death. With love and gratitude for having known you-- Marlies
