Obituary of Robert Howard Rioux

Robert “Bob” H. Rioux of Ivoryton, CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2020. Originally from Fall River, MA., Robert joined the US Navy in July 1955, prior to that he served in the National Reserve for 2 years. He married the love of his life, Barbara Baker, in 1958 and together they moved to East Hampton, CT, raised three children and resided there for almost 30 years. Robert was a huge sports fan and his favorites were golf, the Red Sox, and the Browns. He was an active member of St. John's parish in Old Saybrook and he was devoted to his family. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, their three children; Michael, Susan, and Robert M.; his grandchildren; Nicholas, Marissa, Kelly, Taylor, Daniel, and Mallory; and his great-granddaughters; Arden and Charli. Those who knew Robert could count on good company and a good laugh. He was quick-witted, honest, and fun. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. There will be a memorial service for Robert on Friday October 23, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. John's Church in Old Saybrook, CT.
