Obituary of Nettie Latino
Janet W. “Nettie” Latino, of Old Saybrook, passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2020 at her home, after her battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Nettie was originally from Garg, Scotland, and moved to the United States in 1961 working as a professional Nanny. Nettie worked full-time while attending Yale University to eventually become a Surgical Nurse. John and Nettie met and were married in 1974 at Saint Joseph Church in New London, and after three years in New London moved to Old Saybrook. John stated; “I married the best lady of my life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.” “Nettie always kept her family and friends smiling, unfortunately Nettie’s immediate family of two sisters, Hanna and Ruby who both still reside in Scotland were unable to travel to the United States at the time of their sisters passing, especially her sister Hanna who called almost every day and was an extreme comfort to Nettie and I while she was fighting and struggling with this terrible disease. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”. A memorial service was privately held.
