We lived in Old Saybrook from 1972 to 1977. We cherish many memories of that time - as a member of the RTC and helping Barbara winning her first election - Georges console when we lost our first born - and George regaling on how he made 13 trips in 12 months to the walk-in to patch up one of his three sons. To Georges family, with deepest sympathy, Jared and Cecelia McQueen, Wallingford CT

I grew up with the Maynard boys. George and Barbara and all of us Savelli's were neighbors and friends. I'm so sad but may George be at peace. Lots of memories to be sure.

I also loved hearing his stories of salt marsh moving near my neighborhood and the Native Americans along our Oyster River. A pioneer in my mind!
