Obituary of Margaret A. Tiefenbach

Born in Rochester N.Y. she grew up in Cleveland, Ohio on Lake Erie, where she was a graduate of Villa Angela. A supporting mother, who had a zest for life, she loved the natural world especially being near water and the sea. Her love for music and laughter came from the dry wit of her Mom’s side of the family and the generations of musicians it had. Her mother played banjo, she played the ukulele, and her grandfather, Otto Sebastian Wolfe was a luthier and performed Chamber music in the Rochester area. She especially loved classical and jazz but also the Beatles and contemporary music. She was a devoted nurse within variable capacities in the Lake Hospital system, Lake County Disaster Services, and a school nurse for St. Mary’s in Painesville, Ohio. In 1973 she moved to the Essex Conn. Area where she worked for the VA in New Haven, the Red Cross and was Head Nurse at Aaron Manor in Chester for five years. Semi-retired in 1995 she continued to work part time and volunteered at The Estuary for Senior Citizens in Old Saybrook Conn. In 2013 she moved to Huntsburg, Ohio until her passing at the age of 90. She is survived by her son Mark (Kathryn) Tiefenbach; granddaughters Desiree’ (John) Davis and Leyna (Jacob) Tiefenbach Pettorini; Grandson Shaw (Sara) Tiefenbach; four great grandsons and two great granddaughters; and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents Paul and Ann McMahon; her son Paul Tiefenbach; her sister Aileen Gibbons and her brother Paul McMahon; and the love of her life, her husband of 19 years Joseph P. Tiefenbach. Private services to be held in Conn.
