What a great guy! I remember all the Xavier parties and events that we attended with Ed and Mary back in the 1970's, and all the good times we had together.
I don't think he ever missed a basketball game that his sons played in and was always willing to volunteer his services when the school needed help with anything. He was one of the most deserving men to ever be voted into the Xavier Hall of Honors.
Our deepest condolences to Eddie, Jimmy, David, Susan, Liz and their families. The world lost one of the really good guys on December 6th.

I was the superintendent of schools during Ed's 1986-89 tenure at Deep River Elementary School. What a great guy! He loved the school and cared for the students, teachers and other affiliated with the school. You could tell how happy he was by the way he interacted with children. I am also a Red Sox fan and all season long and in fact, all year long we talked about the Red Sox. When he retired we continued to discuss them. I felt privileged to work with him.

I was a student in Ed's very first class of teaching at Essex Elementary School. He was my first male teacher and first role model. Morning was the time for me to report the daily sports on the classroom Today Show... recess was the time for Ed to roll up his sleeves, grab a football and throw pass after pass to us boys... after school, he was the coach for my Little League team, the Essex Tigers.. My real first name is Frank, but everyone knows me as Skip... Ed was the only person to ever call me 'Marshall', my middle name... it was special..I loved it... Thank you Ed for being part of my youth... Skip Hubbard.

I have such fond memories working for Mr. Weselcouch at Deep River Elementary School. He was a wonderful leader who cared deeply for students, families and teachers. DRES was a fun place to learn and teach because of his hard work and efforts. We shared a love for the Red Sox and celebrated over the phone together when the Sox won the World Series Championship in 2004. Mr. Weselcouch was one of a kind and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Weselcouch family.
