Obituary of Rita Dockter
Rita (Decker) Dockter, age 93, of Chester has rounded third and scored the winning run of life passing quietly from this world on January 31, 2015. She will be joining her team mate, partner in crime and loving husband of over fifty years, Cornelius. She leaves behind two children, Joan Dockter, Paul Dockter and his wife Julie all of Chester. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with two wonderful granddaughters, Jill and her husband Brian Sakidovitch of Chester, Kate and her husband Ross Novic of Killingworth and three great grandchildren Alex Sakidovitch, Nathanial and Sariah Novick. She was the last of her generation predeceased by her husband Cornelius, son James and seven brothers and sisters. Rita lived a great life. She was an avid NY Yankee fan attending every chance she could get. She loved camping, the great outdoors and an occasional ice cold beer. She was always up for anything and rarely said no to a new adventure. She was born and raised in Deep River,worked at assembling gliders there during World War II, met and married her husband Captain Cornelius Dockter. They moved to Chester in 1950 built a house and raised a family. She concentrated on being a mother and home maker. Visitation was held at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook. Rita's Mass of Christian Burial was Held on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church in Chester.
