The family of Fran Malcarne.....I am so thankful that I had the pleasure of knowing Fran. He and Joyce lived across the street from my parents Bob and Jean Ressler. My brothers and I will always be thankful for Fran being the great neighbor and helping them out from time to time. When I returned to Deep River on vacation to visit my parents, there was always time to visit with Fran and Joyce ( you would bring foodstuff to my parents). To Fran's family.... please be comforted by the fact that you have many great memories of your husband, father who was liked by many people. Fran was a great fan and I loved to talk about the Yankees with him.....any sports for that fact. He was also a good ball player. He and my dad played softball together. As Jon and I remember Fran, we have only smiles on our faces as we look around our yard at stone walls, patios, walkways and front steps. He could move our enormous 19th C stones with a crow bar and no sweat. He always had a smile and nothing was impossible. I also fondly remember is impeccable work for the Town of Chester including the great care he took to erect our May Pole for the celebrations and for the general delight of all those who drove by. The stone wall at Congregation Beth Shalom will be another lasting memory of his talents and artistry. Besides his work, he exuded a gentleness and happiness for life. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Joyce, Suzanne & Mel, Stephen & Dale, Ryan & Tammy, Tyler & Luke, sincere condolences on the recent death of Fran. When I learned of his passing a flood of childhood memories came through my mind about Fran as we grew up next door to one another on Liberty Street in Chester. Frannie, as I called him then, was the older brother I never had. I can still hear his whistle calling me over to play catch, shoot baskets or just hang out on the porch. He was a wonderful friend and role model to the younger boy that I was. In more recent years I had him repair my front steps with his fine masonry skills. Even though we rarely kept in touch over the years I will miss him. My sisters, Geraldine and Frances, send their heartfelt sympathy as well. I will remember him at Sunday Mass this weekend and keep you all in my prayers as you mourn his loss. May he Rest In Peace!

My husband and I were so blessed that Fran was our mason for years. Beautiful work. He and I also shared family history. Teet Malcarne Emanuelson was my mother’s beloved cousin’s, Carl’s, wife. Fran was always so content . We wish you all the best in these hard days. What a loss! Eileen Sypher
