Obituary of Arline P. Jones

Arline P. Jones, 103 died peacefully at her home in Manchester on March 8th, 2021. Arline was born January 8th, 1918 in Higganum, Connecticut. She spent most of her years living in Deep River, Connecticut prior to living in Manchester. Arline filled her time doing the things she enjoyed most; reading, solving word puzzles, baking, crafting, and spending time with both her grandchildren and great grandchildren. During her life, she was heavily involved with the Winthrop Willing Workers alongside her mother in law, creating quilts and homemade keepsakes for the community. Additionally, she was an active member of the Winthrop Baptist Church for many years. During World War II, Arline built glider parts at the Pratt Reid Factory and also served as an Area Air Raid Warden. She is survived by her daughter Judith Brown of Manchester; and her son Judson Jones of Old Saybrook along with former daughter in law Donna Jones of Old Saybrook; her grandchildren Wendy Blume and her spouse Peter of Vernon; Melissa Johnson and her partner Christopher Bazzano of Manchester; Amanda Leibowitz and her spouse Greg of Moodus; Christopher Jones and his spouse Megan of Walworth, NY; and her five great grandchildren, Timothy and Allison Blume of Vernon; Ryan Johnson of East Lyme; and Hannah and Noah Leibowitz of Moodus. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Cecil Jones. A graveside service will be held for the immediate family on March 20th, 2021 at Cypress Cemetery in Westbrook.
