I was so sad to see Bob's obituary in the paper. "Strach" was a dear friend of my father Percy Douglas. I had the honor of being in his company many times growing up, and if it wasn't in person, it would be my father relaying one of Strach's jokes. Ever since my father passed away in 2003, Bob and I have exchanged Christmas cards and it has been wonderful to keep in touch. I can honestly say that one of the hardest laughs I have ever had in my life was with my father and Bob at the Pig n Whistle on West 48th Street. The two of them were on a roll, and I couldn't catch my breath the whole evening. My father and I often remembered that night over the years. I send my deepest sympathies to Bob's family. He was one of a kind, and a ton of fun.
Warmly,
Laura Douglas Peterson
