I am deeply saddened by Jerry’s passing. He was a great man and good friend. It was a privilege knowing him from 2nd grade right through to UCONN, and following his impressive work at the Lee Company. He will be missed at the VRHS Class-of-65 events where we could reconnect with Jerry and Dawn, catch up on our lives and renew old friendships. My deepest sympathy to Dawn and Jerry’s whole family. I know there are decades of good memories that will sustain you during this difficult time and into the future as you heal. John Dresty

Have fond memories of our school days and playing LL on the Essex Tigers. Jerry both pitched and was a catcher. Half miler and pole vaulter. Very good player and athlete. Not surprised he succeeded as an engineer etc. My sympathies and condolences to his Family and friends.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. I have so many find memories of the good times we had at VRHS. Jerry was a good friend to anyone who had the good fortune to know him. He was way too young to leave. I hope his family will find some comfort in the special times spent together and any memories that will bring a smile or a laugh.

I worked with Jerry many years ago at the Lee Company. He was an exceptional problem-solving engineer. We rowed together in the Great Connecticut River Raft Race and we fished many nights on White Sands Beach in the fall. I have fond memories of good times with Jerry and he was much admired.

My old friend, as we grow old, life presents us with opportunities to look back and reminisce. My memory bank tries to remember only the good times and I have many happy memories of my childhood friend.. Playing at Jerry's house or mine and staying overnight on Cheney Street. Riding our bikes (Jerry taught me how to ride a bike) down to Comstock field to play ball an do what kids did in the 1950's. Jerry and I went to the Ivoryton Elementary School, Valley Regional HS (Jerry was into track & field & a pole vaulter if my memory is correct). After HS we went off to UCONN where we were together on the 5th floor dormitory in the "jungle". I remember driving back from UCONN on a very snowy Saturday night with Jerry and Dawn, do you remember?
Helping out renovation your first home on Brookside Lane in Centerbrook. I remember vividly my heartfelt opinion that "THESE TWO LOVERS ARE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER" The last 50+ years confirms the correctness of my observation.
I'll forever be grateful to Jerry for getting me a summer job with the J.G.Holbrook Co., where we worked together building docks and jetties. Best job I ever had.
Rest in Peace old buddy until we meet again. May God continue to bless us, each and every one.

In tribute to a man that, with his fatherly guidance, made my dear friend Kristen the wonderfully kind, curious and generous person that she is.
