Obituary of Hedwig Sienel

Hedwig (Heidi) Sienel passed away on 4. August 2021. Heidi was born on 21. August 1933 in Krekollen, East Prussia to Hedwig and Adolf Lossau. She grew up in Germany and was married to her loving husband, Hans, for almost 56 years. They lived in Queens, NY and then Brewster, NY, where they raised their 3 children. Hans and Heidi eventually moved to Haddam, CT. Heidi enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with friends and family. She loved to laugh and had a fantastic sense of humor. Always ready with a joke and a hug, she will be missed by many. Heidi is survived by her husband, Hans, her 3 children Rob (Iris) of Haag in Ob, Germany, Tobias (Beth) of Syracuse, NY and Kerstin (Bill) of Killingworth, CT. Heidi was also Oma to her 7 grandchildren: Becky & Caroline Sienel, Andrew Sienel and Katja, Sasha, Isabel & Evan Berardino. Visitation for Heidi will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home 34 Main Street in Centerbrook, CT on Monday, 9. August from 10-11 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester, CT at 11:30am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
