Obituary of Paul Michael Malcarne
Paul Michael “Uncle Mike” Malcarne, age 75, the beloved husband of Cathy (Hartman) Malcarne passed away on Friday morning, October 8, 2021 with Cathy at his side at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven.
Mike was born in Middletown on October 3, 1946 the son of Leno and Florence (Bangs) Malcarne.
He was a lifelong resident of Deep River, a graduate of Vinal Technical School and served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mike was a Test Technician at Connecticut Light & Power Company for over 30 years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement from CL&P he continued in his own business, Malcarne Construction Company which allowed him to enjoy his real passion and love of operating heavy equipment.
Besides his wife Cathy, Mike leaves his sons, Paul Malcarne, Jr. and his wife Lara, of East Berlin, Brian Malcarne and his wife Alisha, of York, Pennsylvania and his beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Brendan, Cameron, Coleman, Emelia and Cora. He also leaves his sisters, Sally Stebbins and Penny Grote , both of Deep River, his brother, John Malcarne, of Utah and many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00AM at The First Congregational Church of Deep River, 1 Church Street in Deep River. The rendering of Full Military Honors will follow the service on the grounds of the church. All those in attendence are asked to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be made to The Deep River Fire Department, 57 Union Street, Deep River, CT 06417.
