Obituary of Mildred V. Nolin

Mildred “Mickey” Virginia Nolin of Old Saybrook CT., on October 29th 2021 at the full age of 93 passed from this world to her new place with her maker in Heaven. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond Joseph Nolin Jr. who predeceased her on August 26th 1989. Mickey was born June 18th 1928 to Raymond Joseph Barry and Mildred Amelia Diamen in New Haven CT. Mickey is survived by seven children, Kathleen Ryan, Richard, Susan, Michael, Maryanne, Elizabeth Crussana, and Glenna Rose O’Neil. Also, her brother-in-law and friend Robert Nolin, closest friend/daughter Joy Keenan. She was predeceased by a son Raymond Joseph Nolin III. Mickey had eleven grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. After high school Mickey entered nursing program at Grace New Haven in 1945 and graduation in 1947, before starting a family. In addition to playing “mother goose”, Mickey personally loved Cape Cod, sewing, quilting, gardening, and travel. In her later years many of you may interacted with her while playing “WORDS WITH FRIENDS” on an iPad. Mickey and Ray (as they were known) loved RVing, and could not wait for Thanksgiving to be over, so they then could bolt to Pasadena California to get front row seats at the Rose Bowl parade. After Rays passing, Mickey assumed the steering wheel and made several cross-country trips with her mother and close friends. I’d like the memory of me To be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow Of smiles When life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering Softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times And bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done As per her request there will be no calling hours or viewings. There will a service on November 4th at 11:00am. At St. John Roman Catholic Church Main ST. Old Saybrook Followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook In lieu of flowers Mickey asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
