Aunt Ruth, Kathi, Dan, and Mike and family,
I'm so sorry to hear Uncle Dan has passed away, but happy to hear it was peaceful. I have been thinking back to all the things he's shared and taught me over the years about all manners of topics like the town he so loved, the war, plants, putting the "english" on a pool shot, etc. I am so appreciative of those times. I will miss his lyrical voice and ability to laugh at some crazy situations (observations at my wedding; also a few nutty moments in Lake Placid that will remain unspecified here).
Love to you all,
Jen

I miss my grandfather's positive talk, his thoughtful words on living, and his kindness. I miss playing pepper in the backyard, building a birdhouse together, and eating ice cream while watching baseball. I'll always remember you, Grandpa.
Sending love and thoughts to my family and my grandfather. See you when I see you, Grandpa.

To Ruth and all in the Connors family: My sincere condolences on the recent death of your beloved, Dan. He was a most kind and gentle man, and one of the best teachers I ever had. I enjoyed his class at VRHS early on in his career and was always happy to see him whenever I visited my home parish of St. Joseph’s in Chester. Dan will be remembered at Sunday Mass this coming weekend and you will all be in my prayers as you mourn his loss. May he Rest In Peace!

It is with great sadness that I read of the passing of this wonderful man and extraordinary teacher. When I think back to my years at VRHS, there are a few outstanding teachers who always come to mind. Dan was certainly one of those teachers. His soft spoken demeanor, his sense of humor and his commitment to his students made him a wonderful teacher. Who will ever forget Mr. Connors standing in front of our Civics class with his “book of credits” to encourage participation in class discussions? He was our class (1965) advisor and we were fortunate to have his guidance for 4 years. He was a credit to his profession and his legacy will be the number of student lives he influenced in his quiet way. I also had the added benefit of having his guidance in CYO classes where he tried mightily to fill us with the spirit of God and instill in us a sense of God’s love.
George was a colleague of Dan’s. He admired and respected him as a dedicated educator and a good friend.
Dan lived a good life and his loss will be felt by anyone who was fortunate enough to know him. Our hearts go out to his family.
With thoughts and prayers,
Cindy (Nucci) & George Parker

I wish to extend my condolences to the entire Conners family. Mr. Conners was by far my favorite teacher and he and his wife never hesitated to stop and say hello when we ran across one another in town. He was one of the nicest, gentlest men I have ever known and am blessed to have known him. Thank you for being a part of my life.

I grew up on River Street in Deep River and Kathleen and I played together quite often when we were in elementary school. I was a frequent visitor at the Connors home during that time and have many wonderful memories of those visits. Mr. Connors and his lovely wife were always kind and gracious towards me. I was also a student in Mr. Connors' history class. As a young person growing up in the shadow of the Vietnam conflict, Mr. Connors' perspective on history made a lasting impression on me. I'm sure my classmates would agree.
My deepest sympathy and condolences to Mrs. Connors, Kathleen and the Connors family.
