Obituary of Richard T. Abramson

The family of Richard T. Abramson of Moodus, Connecticut is saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the age of 73, after a brief, courageous battle with bladder cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Barbara; children: C. Scott Abramson and his partner Becky Rawlinson of Farmington, CT and Michael Abramson and his wife Allison of Chester, CT; sister Karen (Michael) Mazur of Pompton Plains, NJ; sister-in-law Nancy (David) Smith of Londonderry, NH and brother-in-law B. Joseph Boumenot of Washington. “Grampy” will be dearly missed by the children who brought such joy to his life: Erin and Grant Arruda, Emma, Sophia and Clara Abramson, and his many nieces and nephews. Rich was predeceased by his parents Richard T. and D. June Abramson and his in-laws Beppo and Irene Boumenot. Rich was born in Montclair, NJ in 1948. He enjoyed his studies of botany and chemistry, graduating from Rutgers University in 1971. Rich served as Technical Director at Bradford Dying Association until his retirement. An avid fisherman, Rich enjoyed his times on the Connecticut River and on the shores of Rhode Island. Rich loved traveling, working in his yard with Barbara and gathering with his loved ones. Visitation will be held at Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT. A private funeral will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
