Obituary of Stanley S. Laskowski, Jr.
Stanley (“Stosh”) Laskowski, Jr., 64, of East Haddam, CT passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Stanley was born on March 9, 1957 in Middletown, CT to Stanley and Genevieve (Miezejeski) Laskowski. Stanley will be greatly missed by his three sisters, Christine Tisdale, Paula and Victoria Laskowski, his niece Amy Tisdale, twin great-nephews Maximus and Gabriel, nephew Eric Tisdale (Anne Marie Ahern), great-niece Sydney and many friends. Stanley is predeceased by his mother and father and his brother in law, Brian Tisdale
Stanley was an exceptional finished carpenter who acquired a priceless wealth of knowledge from his mentor and father. He was an avid fisherman and recently enjoyed taking guided fishing trips up to Lake Ontario, being so proud of the large catches. He also loved stock car racing, being a lifelong fan of NASCAR and also recently sponsored a late model race car (Stosh Enterprises #32) here in CT. He loved working on the race car and being with the crew.
Sometimes Stanley’s gruff exterior didn’t reflect the true soft and kind nature that many remember about Stanley. If family and friends were in need, Stanley did his best to be there to help out. Stanley was a sentimental person who valued spending time with family and good friends and keeping family traditions, especially when holidays and family dinners came around. He was not materialistic – he put importance on things he was passionate about.
Visitation will be held at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook on Thursday morning, February 3rd from 9:30AM to 10:30AM, followed by a procession and Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester at 11:00AM. A luncheon celebrating Stanley’s life will follow Mass. Burial will be privately held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Stanley’s name to the American Heart Association or Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
