Thank you, Mr. Peluso, for being one of the absolute best teachers I had. I remember day one of class, he explained that we’d be sitting in alphabetical order, there’d be no vandalism or doodling on desks, and if we were not in his class to learn, please feel free to drop the class. A couple of students left. I remember him teaching us on world maps, and asking me to read my history essays out loud. I really admired and respected his leadership. He truly cared for the individual student as a whole person, and I’ve never forgotten the discipline and care that went into his teaching. I extend my deepest sympathies to his loved ones. G.

I was saddened to learn of Joe's death. He was elected to the Deep River Board of Education when I was the superintendent of schools. He was very supportive of me and the staff of the Deep River Elementary School. Since he was also a social studies teacher, we had many discussions about secondary school educational practices. I was certain that his attitude and teaching skills would be well-liked by students. If there is one one word I would use to describe Joe, it would be "gentleman".

Mr Peluso - My teacher and coach when I was in HS. One of my most memorable teachers. Sad he is gone, but he lives on in the thousands of students he shared his time and knowledge with. Condolences to his family. He was a special teacher.

Mr. Peluso was my history teacher in high school. Not only was he a teacher but he was the best you can ask for. I think I learned the most about history, having him as a teacher, but he made it fun. He always shared stories about his family and the crazy long road trips he would bring you guys on. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you. He was a true example of a quality person, that quality you just do not find anymore. I am so sorry for your loss as this one hurts me too. Cheers to Joe for having a great life surrounded by people and books he loved!

My deepest condolences. Joe was my social studies teacher at GHS and later, a colleague. I was blessed to have known him. He instilled a love of history in me, and taught me to be a good citizen. I was grateful that he taught my own daughter APUSH when she was at GHS. He nurtured her love of history, too. Blessed to have known him. Rest In Peace, Joe.

I’m very sorry for your loss to Joe’s family and his many friends and colleagues. Joe was a bright light to all who knew him. Joey was my next door neighbor and best friend growing up in Newington. A large field separated our homes from the Berlin turnpike. In the winter we would play backyard ice hockey across the turnpike on several ponds that also served as our large mouth bass fishing ponds in summer. We would also go sledding on Parker’s Farm Hill all the way to the cattails that bordered Main Street. Spring started our baseball season on an all clay lot on the northern end of the field where we would play 400 baseball games which made little league and alumni ball very easy to compete in. Summers we would swim in Joe Rogalski’s pool between games pick raspberries that bordered Joe’s back yard towards the ball fields. Friday nights after collecting for the news papers we would find ourselves eating 25 cent meals consisting of a burger , shake and those always perfect fries while we watched drag racing on the turnpike. August we would get the lawnmowers out to mow the straw field where we would play >200 games of very competitive football by age 15. It was quite an idyllic childhood that we lived quite well through and Joey was always fun and witty to be with and that personality stayed with him through his life.
Thank You Joe for all the great memories!
