Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" (Halloran) Lynskey
Elizabeth “Betty” (Halloran) Lynskey, 91 of Westbrook died Friday (March 25) surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Lynskey Jr. Betty was born in Hartford, CT on August 18, 1930 the daughter of the late Joseph J. Halloran and Ann (Haertl) Halloran.
Betty grew up in Windsor Locks and was a graduate of Windsor Locks High School. Betty and Tom lived in Enfield and St. Louis, MO before settling in Westbrook in 1966. Betty retired from the Town of Westbrook Public Health Nursing Service as an Administrative Assistant. She was a parishioner of St Mark Church, and a member the Pukwana Club of Westbrook, and served on the Visiting Nurses and Public Health Board for the Westbrook Public Health Nursing Service. A talented artist, she also enjoyed watercolor painting classes at The Estuary in Old Saybrook. Betty loved the sun and the beach, both in Westbrook and while wintering in Hillsboro Beach FL.
Betty is survived by her loving family, daughter Daryl (Len) Carpentier, son Patrick (Linda) Lynskey, daughter Doreen (Ed) Staskelunas, brother Joseph (Anna) Halloran, sister-in-law Zelda Halloran, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Mark Lynskey, brother Thomas Halloran, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Muriel and Bob Quinlivan and grandson Eddie Staskelunas.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31 at 11:00AM at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeagh Road in Westbrook. Burial will be immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery, Route 145 in Westbrook.
