My condolences and sympathy to MaryBeth and family in the passing of Dr. Ellison. I was the nurse manager of the Pediatric ICU at Hartford Hospital during the late 1980's when Dr. Ellison began to perform complex cardiac surgeries and advance the pediatric cardiac program forward. I remember his skill and knowledge, his commitment to building the program, his grace and courage, the detailed hand drawings of the surgical correction performed in the medical records of patients, his support to the staff, and his firm compassion and empathy to the families of children, in good times and in sad times. Dr. Ellison was steadfast and true, impacted so many patients and families, and so many of us learned so much from him. The world has lost a great human being. May angels lead you into paradise and may you rest in peace. Linda Keenan
