I was sorry to see the obituary in the Scarsdale Inquirer but happy to have the opportunity to send a note of condolence. I was a student at Fox Meadow Elementary School in the late 1970s and early 80s. I have good memories of Ms. McCann who exuded calm but gentle authority as she roamed the school as Principal. A love of the arts and reading was clearly something she imbued in the school and felt by the students. I returned to Scarsdale and sent my own three children to Fox Meadow. Ms. McCann's leadership created a legacy at Fox Meadow of a warm school community that promotes a love of learning. I hope her memory will be a blessing to her family and they will know that her influence rippled far and wide.
